Mental Health Information

At Sam Brannan Middle School we recognize and respond to the need for mental health and behavioral prevention, early intervention, and crisis services. Our goal is to promote psychosocial wellness and positive development for all students. We are trained to address barriers and to assess ways to maximize students' success in school by offering education, prevention, and crisis and short-term intervention until the student is connected with available community resources. We care about our students' mental health needs because mental health issues can be a significant obstacle to student academic, career and social/emotional development and even compromise school safety.

Research indicates 20 percent of students are in need of mental health services, yet only one out of five of these students receive the necessary services. Our goal is to provide Sam Brannan families with resources so that our students can thrive both at school and at home.

We have created two pages for your reference. One is for emergency services (hotlines, shelters, food banks etc.) and the other is for general mental health services for both students and parents.
